Jakes Burgers breaks ground on restaurant park in North Richland Hills

A long-awaited restaurant park is coming to North Richland Hills with burgers and tacos. Located at the northwest corner of Davis Boulevard and Lola Drive, the development will comprise:
- Jakes Burgers, a DFW staple
- Tacos & Avocados, its sibling Mexican concept
- A one-acre shared “backyard” with outdoor dining and dedicated play areas for families and children
According to a release, the development is a collaboration between the city of North Richland Hills with hospitality company Mad Concepts Group and Blue Plate Network. Mad Concepts and city officials broke bround on the project on December 8.
The two restaurants, ranging from 4,000 to 5,000 square feet each, with a full bar, outdoor seating, and a dynamic dining atmosphere combining "exceptional food" with a lively environment.
The park has been in the works for more than a year, awaiting approval from the city, and is anticipated to open in fall 2026.
This is not the first restaurant park concept for Mad Concepts Group: They're doing a similar project in Saginaw, in which a Jakes will be paired up with a restaurant called Split Rail Steakhouse & Grill; as well as one in Brenbrook which will, like NRH, combine a Jakes and a Tacos & Avocados.
Jakes Burgers was founded in 1985 in East Dallas, and was acquired by Mad Concepts Group in 2021. They've since evolved beyond their roots in burgers and beer. There are 13 locations across DFW, featuring an expanded menu designed to appeal to a broad audience.
Tacos & Avocados was developed by the MAD Concepts team and presents a Mex-Tex culinary experience that fuses traditional Mexican cooking techniques with Texas-inspired flavors. Signature menu items include birria, Shiner-braised brisket tacos, fajitas, and queso. The menu also has health-conscious options, such as a fried avocado salad bowl, an unusual pozole-roasted corn hummus, and a vegan bowl with quinoa, rajas, and corn.
“People visit restaurants for great food, but they return for the service and the experience," says Mad Concepts founder and president Courtney Lindley in a statement. We take pride not only in our menu but also in the environments we create. The backyard area in North Richland Hills will serve as a vibrant community hub, bringing people together beyond the dining table.”
