December is here which means Christmas is near — but first, Repeal Day arrives with a Prohibition era party at a popular place for whiskey and Southern cuisine. Hone your entertaining skills with a couple cooking classes, then plan for a Christmas cookie and wine pairing by the weekend.

Winter Tasting Menu at Taste Project
Enjoy the first glimpse of Taste Project’s multi-course seasonal menu on Thursday in Fort Worth and Friday in Arlington. Tickets start at $40 and proceeds go towards the non-profit’s mission of providing pay-what-you-can meals for the community. Dinner will run from 6–8 pm both nights.
Food for the Seoul at The Cookery
Explore the bold flavors of Korea during this hands-on cooking class featuring authentic courses. Highlights include tofu soup with pork belly, beef bulgogi, and matcha ice cream. Wine pairings are included in the $125 ticket price. Class begins at 6:30 pm.

Repeal Day Party at Whiskey Cake
Party like it’s 1933 during this celebration commemorating the end of Prohibition. Whiskey Cake’s patio will be transformed into a speakeasy featuring bootleg-inspired cocktails, hand-rolled cigars, and live music. The party will run from 7 pm–midnight. Fedoras and fringe dresses encouraged.

Cookies for Santa Workshop & Wine at Messina Hof
Grapevine winery invites the whole family to this Christmas cookie workshop. Kids will decorate sugar cookies with colorful icing and all the trimmings, while grownups can enjoy a cookie and wine pairing. Tickets are $18 for kids and include three cookies and a festive drink station, and $35 for adults for the cookie and wine pairing, plus tax and gratuity. The workshop will run from 11 am–1 pm.
Sunday, December 7
A Winter Brunch at Central Market Cooking School
Invite family and friends over for a festive brunch after taking this hands-on class featuring a four-course seasonal menu. Dishes include shrimp, orange, and avocado salad with champagne vinaigrette, roast beef Benedict with horseradish Hollandaise, garlic and chive roasted potatoes, and panettone bread pudding. Tickets are $85 and include wine at the end of class. Start time is 12 pm.
