Sweet Paris Creperie & Cafe brings French-y elegance to Southlake
An elegant new spot serving crepes and more is coming to Southlake: Called Sweet Paris Crêperie & Café, it's a small chain that specializes in crêpes, hot drinks, mimosas, and more, opening in Southlake Town Square at 228 State St., in the former Rockfish Grill, which closed in June after 25 years.
According to a release, Sweet Paris is now open, with a grand opening event planned for late November.
The concept is coming to Southlake thanks to Edward and Cynthia Hymes and their son Edward, who also have plans to open four more locations in the DFW area.
Sweet Paris Crêperie & Café was founded by Houston husband-and-wife Ivan and Allison Chavez in 2012, and currently has 17 stores in operation in Austin, College Station, Houston, McAllen, and San Antonio, plus locations in Florida, Minnesota, and Mexico.
Their menu offers a wide variety of sweet and savory crepes, from classics like nutella and dulce de leche to chicken carbonara and turkey with grapes and brie. Delectable sweet options include Apple Cinnamon Crème Brûlée, featuring torched vanilla cream with caramelized apples, dulce de leche, & cinnamon. They even have a vegan option: Berry Agave with apples caramelized in agave syrup, plus strawberries and blackberries.
There are also waffles, omelets, salads, and panini. Beverages include mimosas, beer, wine, and cider, plus espresso and coffee drinks including a wide range of flavored lattes, as well as hot chocolate and milkshakes.
The Hymes family have been Texas residents for the past 26 years. Cynthia has experience in restaurant ownership and operations, while Edward Sr. has more than 35 years of business leadership experience serving in executive roles for companies including CEO of Eagle Point Lending, President and COO of Planet Fitness, CEO of Jiffy Lube International, and roles at Shell and Kmart. And Edward Jr. boasts restaurant, retail, and project management experience.
They were ready to take an entrepreneurial journey together and were also avid fans of Sweet Paris.
"Sweet Paris Creperie & Café is truly a one-of-a-kind brand that our entire family feels connected to,” says Edward Hymes Sr. in a statement. “We are committed to bringing a truly excellent and fresh dining experience to the community and could not think of a better place than Southlake for the first of several locations we plan to open.”
