New chef-driven restaurant and all-suite hotel debut in Fort Worth's Waterside complex
Two exciting new doors are opening at Fort Worth's Waterside development on Tuesday, May 4 — a long-awaited restaurant from a popular local chef, and an all-suite hotel close to the Trinity Trails.
First up is The Rim, the second location of Chef Keith Hicks' popular Burleson restaurant, which will open in the old Taco Diner space at 5912 Convair Dr.
"After wrapping up an extensive renovation, including a dining room and patio expansion, The Rim is ready to rock," a release says.
Fort Worth can expect some of the dishes they knew and loved from Hicks' old Westside restaurant Buttons, including chicken & waffles, fried green tomatoes, and shrimp & grits. The menu will also include seafood, steaks, and brunch on weekends featuring dishes like stuffed French toast and tenderloin & eggs.
The restaurant has an "American Retro" aesthetic that integrates vintage automobiles, including an Airstream trailer, and a 1964 Thunderbird, the release says.
Also opening is the all-suite Residence Inn Fort Worth Southwest by Marriott, at 5825 Arborlawn Dr.
The hotel features both studio and one-bedroom suites that offer a large living area and kitchen with a full-sized refrigerator, stovetop, microwave, dishwasher, and coffee maker. There's also an exercise facility, outdoor pool, and a patio area with grills and fire pits.
While there's no on-site restaurant, they will have food service, and, according to the management company's website, complimentary evening socials from Monday to Thursday.
It's in a pet-friendly location just off the Trinity Trails and walkable to the shops and restaurants in Waterside.
“We’re thrilled to be opening our new Residence Inn by Marriott Fort Worth Southwest in the Waterside location," said Angela Wills, general manager, Residence Inn by Marriott Fort Worth Southwest, in a statement. "Our guests will enjoy strolling around Waterside and the Trinity Trails and to be able to shop, eat, and relax with options to workout or be pampered at the nearby salons."
