New restaurant-sports bar is a touchdown for Fort Worth football fans
Football fans from Fort Worth, the mid-cities, and beyond have a new eatery to check out at The Shops at Highland Village, the outdoor center in Highland Village.
Called Lambeau's America Kitchen and Taps, it's a restaurant and sports bar whose name and menu pay homage to NFL cities and traditions. It's located in the former Patrizio's space at 4131 Deer Creek Rd., where it opened in June.
Lambeau's is named for Curly Lambeau, the NFL player, coach, and founder of the Green Bay Packers. It's the latest concept from Jim Verfurth, a well-known restaurateur in the area who owns Shoal Creek Tavern in Highland Village and Verf's Grill & Tavern in Flower Mound.
With amenities like this, it's no wonder Flower Mound was just rated No. 1 on the list of top 100 best cities in Texas in which to live by the Chamber of Commerce.
Lambeau's continues its NFL theme with a menu that features trademark dishes from cities that host NFL teams. That means Philly cheesesteaks, Maryland crab cakes, Wisconsin fried cheese curds, and more.
There are curly chili cheese fries, pulled pork nachos, a seafood boil, and crawfish etouffee over blackened redfish. There's Wagyu steak fingers — representing Dallas, of course — veggie nachos, Buffalo wings, Chicago-style deep dish pizza, New York-style pizza, and Cleveland beef & potato pierogis.
A full bar boasts a frozen margarita that's already earned raves, plus 32 beers on tap, also culled from breweries around the country and the world.
The atmosphere is classic sports bar restaurant with plenty of big screen TVs, vintage black-and-white photos of football plays, and a row of indoor-outdoor garage doors that open onto a large patio.
Lambeau's is joined by Tiff's Treats, which also just opened at the Shops at Highland Village. This is Tiff's 50th location.
Austin Speni, spokesperson for JLL, the landlord, says in a release that they're thrilled to welcome Tiff's Treats and Lambeau's America to The Shops at Highland Village.
"Tiff's Treats is one of the most beloved names in retail here in North Texas, and Lambeau's is such a unique and welcome concept to the area," Speni says. "Both make outstanding additions to our best in class offerings for visitors and surrounding residents."
