1. This hefty Fort Worth restaurant news roundup will break January diets. Our first Fort Worth restaurant news roundup of the new year is a gut-buster. It packs in every single food you swore off January 1: Tex-Mex, burgers & fries, pizza, brunch, booze, pastries, chocolate, chicken-fried steak, mashed potatoes, and even movie-theater popcorn.
2. Chill Coffee & Wine Bar fills old Coupe spot on Fort Worth's South Main. Coffee and wine are picking up where champagne left off in Fort Worth's South Main Village: Chill Coffee and Wine Bar has moved into former Coupe champagne bar space, which closed last summer, at 314 S. Main St. Suite 110. Chill opened Friday, January 23.
3. DFW braces for 'potentially catastrophic' winter storm across the South. By midweek, DFW — and all of Texas — was preparing for a “widespread potentially catastrophic event from Texas to the Carolinas.” While warming shelters opened across DFW and many events were canceled, the Fort Worth Stock Show & Rodeo planned to stay open all weekend.
4. Hurtado Barbecue owner to open Tex-Mex restaurant at Arlington stadium. A new Tex-Mex restaurant from the owner of BBQ fave Hurtado Barbecue is coming to Arlington. Called Loma, it will debut this spring in Choctaw Stadium, aka the former home of the Rangers.

5. Utah coffee chain Beans & Brews pours first cups in Mansfield for DFW debut. A coffee concept from Salt Lake City has made its Dallas-Fort Worth debut in Mansfield. Beans & Brews Coffeehouse has opened its doors in a busy retail corridor at 2411 E. Broad St.
