The 11 best things to do in Fort Worth this 4th of July weekend
With the 4th of July falling on a Saturday, every day this weekend will feature at least one celebratory event. Other choices include a comedian, three concerts, a World Cup game, screenings of a new film, and the final days of a notable art exhibition.

Thursday, July 2
Mansfield Rocks
The big 4th of July events taking place in the area starts with Mansfield Rocks on Thursday. This event feature both a drone show and fireworks display, with the drone show launching from the Fields at Station 63, followed by the fireworks display launched from Skinner Sports Complex.
Improv Arlington presents Benji Brown
Benji Brown began his career in radio while honing his skills as a stand-up comedian with a unique voice and hilarious characters. He became a key fixture on the Rickey Smiley Morning Show, and went on to work with such A-list headliners as Smiley, Chris Rock, Steve Harvey, and Monique. He's also appeared in a number of TV specials and commercials. He'll perform at Improv Arlington five times through Sunday.
Hayden Baker in concert
Texas-based country artist Hayden Baker has a sound that blends classic honky-tonk with a contemporary edge. In his career, he has opened shows for legends like Willie Nelson, Joe Nichols, Larry Gatlin, and Tracy Lawrence. He was also named Musician of the Year at the 2025 Texas Country Music Industry Awards. He'll play at Billy Bob's Texas in support of his 2025 album, Alive & Well.
Friday, July 3
Independence Day Eve events
Several cities will hold their 4th of July events the day before the official holiday, including Southlake, Hurst, and Keller. Expect music, family fun, and, of course, fireworks.
FIFA World Cup: Australia vs. Egypt
Friday will mark the end of the Round of 32 in the 2026 FIFA World Cup, and Dallas Stadium will host one of the final three matches. Australia made it to this round after coming in second to the United States in Group D, while Egypt came in just behind Group G winner Belgium. The winner of the match will go on to play either Argentina or Cabo Verde.
Magnolia at the Modern: Lucky Strike
In Lucky Strike, a wounded American soldier (Scott Eastwood) fights to survive behind enemy lines during World War II’s Battle of the Bulge. To evade capture and find his way back to his unit, he must rely on his instincts, spy craft, and a hand-held radio. The film, also starring Colin Hanks and Aunjanue Ellis-Taylor, will screen five times through Sunday at the Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth.
Kat Hasty in concert
Born and raised in West Texas, singer/songwriter Kat Hasty writes songs laced with heartache, joy, loss, and female angst. She released her first EP, Drowning in Dreams, in 2020, and has gone on to release several albums, most recently The Time of Your Life in 2025. She'll play at Billy Bob's Texas.

Fourth of July events
Dallas-Fort Worth will commemorate the 250th anniversary of the United States with many big 4th of July events, from parades to fireworks, including celebrations in Burleson, Denton, Granbury, Arlington, Flower Mound, Bedford, Fort Worth, and Grapevine.
Wynn Williams in concert
Wynn Williams is a true cowboy turned country music artist, forged in the dirt and grit of the rodeo arena. After graduating from Texas A&M in 2016, the Weatherford native and steer wrestler swapped his spurs for a guitar. He has gone on to release several EPs and albums, with his most recent release being the 2025 album, Country Therapy. He'll play at Billy Bob's Texas.

Amon Carter Museum of American Art presents "Black Photojournalism" closing day
Sunday will be the final day to view "Black Photojournalism" at the Amon Carter Museum of American Art. The exhibition shines a light on the groundbreaking work of more than 60 photographers working across the United States in the world-changing decades between 1945 and the mid-1980s. Featuring over 250 photographs, it highlights the essential role of Black photojournalists in documenting both pivotal historical events as well as the richness of everyday life, offering a fuller and more nuanced portrayal of Black experiences in America.
Light Up Arlington
What, you thought 4th of July events ended on the 4th of July? Arlington will extend the festivities this year by holding their annual Light Up Arlington event on Sunday, July 5. It will feature an expanded fireworks and drone show in the Arlington Entertainment District, with the lawns around Mark Holtz Lake in Richard Greene Linear Park as the prime viewing spot for the show. Prior to the show, visitors can enjoy patriotic activities at the nearby Arlington Museum of Art and National Medal of Honor Museum, including a performance by the U.S. Army’s First Cavalry Band.
