Van Cliburn International Piano Competition Screening Auditions final weekend
In advance of the seventeenth edition of the Van Cliburn International Piano Competition, taking place May 21-June 7, 77 pianists representing 22 countries and regions will participate in The Van Cliburn International Piano Competition Screening Auditions. The auditions, which started on March 16, will continue through Saturday at PepsiCo Recital Hall on the TCU campus.
Lone Star Film Festival presents Beyond the Festival: Bastards of Soul
In the limelight of imminent global fame, a Texas band's journey is marked by the unforeseen loss of their charismatic frontman, Chadwick Murray. This documentary captures the raw essence of their final album sessions and the electrifying stage presence that defined them, celebrating the enduring legacy of a man who achieved his dreams against all odds. The film will screen at the Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth.
Broadway at the Bass presents Les Misérables
Set against the backdrop of 19th century France, Les Misérables tells an enthralling story of broken dreams and unrequited love, passion, sacrifice and redemption - a timeless testament to the survival of the human spirit. The epic and uplifting story has become one of the most celebrated musicals in theatrical history. The national tour of Cameron Mackintosh's production runs through Sunday at Bass Performance Hall.

NCAA Women's Basketball Tournament
The TCU Women's Basketball team has had a magical season, compiling a 31-3 record and earning a No. 2 seed in the NCAA Women's Basketball Tournament. That also allows them to host games for the first two rounds of the tournament at Schollmaier Arena on the TCU campus. They'll play No. 15 Fairleigh Dickinson on Friday, and then - assuming they take care of business - play the winner of No. 7 Louisville vs. No. 10 Nebraska on Sunday.
Magnolia at the Modern: Liza: A Truly Terrific Absolutely True Story
Liza: A Truly Terrific Absolutely True Story is a star-studded tribute that focuses on a complex period of Liza Minnelli’s life. Beginning in the 1970s, just after the tragic death of her mother, Judy Garland, the film follows Minnelli as she confronts a range of personal and professional challenges on the way to becoming a bona fide legend. The film features insights from multiple colleagues including Mia Farrow, Michael Feinstein, Joel Grey, Ben Vereen, and the late Chita Rivera. The film will screen seven times through Sunday at the Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth.
Sundown Collaborative Theatre presents As Small as Stars
In As Small as Stars, Mr. and Mrs. Darling anxiously await their children's return from Neverland, torn between hope and dread. Questions haunt them: Where have their children gone? Are they safe? Will they ever come back? Ever-faithful Nana and Mr. Darling’s own mother join them during their hours of longing and heartache. Peter and Tink themselves make an appearance, adding a touch of magic to the mix, which the Darlings come to find was sorely needed. The production runs through March 30 at the Theatre Denton Annex inside Golden Triangle Mall.
Big Laugh Comedy Club presents Adrienne Iapalucci
Adrienne Iapalucci is a comedian, writer, and performer based in New York. A JFL New Faces alum, she won the first ever People’s Choice award at the New York Comedy Festival and made her debut on NBC’s Last Comic Standing. Her Degenerates Netflix special premiered on NYE 2020 alongside Nikki Glaser, Ms. Pat, and others. She released her debut album, Baby Skeletons, in 2020. She'll perform at Big Laugh Comedy Club four times through Saturday.
Improv Arlington presents Tony Baker
Tony Baker is a stand up comedian and actor who has appeared on NBC's Last Comic Standing, Gabriel Iglesias Presents Stand-Up Revolution, Comics Unleashed, and more comedy TV specials. He has also acted in television and film on projects like The Carmichael Show on NBC, Just Add Magic on Amazon, and the award-winning film Whiplash. He'll perform five times through Sunday at Improv Arlington.
Ty Myers in concert
What were you doing when you were 17 years old? Chances are, you weren't headlining a concert at Billy Bob's Texas, but that's exactly what Ty Myers will be doing on Friday. The Austin native, who has yet to graduate high school, has already made a mark on the Texas country music scene, performing alongside Willie Nelson, Wade Bowen, Randy Rogers Band, and more. He'll play in support of his debut album, The Select.

Casa Mañana presents Disney'sThe Little Mermaid, Jr.
Casa Mañana will go under the sea with Ariel, Sebastian, Flounder, and the evil sea witch, Ursula in The Little Mermaid, Jr.. In the iconic tale of self-discovery and love, a brave little mermaid trades her fins for feet. The musical features Disney's classic songs "Kiss the Girl," "Under the Sea," "Poor Unfortunate Souls," and "Part of Your World." In this production, all the songs and familiar characters are present and accounted for, but the script has been condensed to better suit young attention spans. It will run through April 13.
Four Day Weekend Pop-Up Show
Speaking of Casa Mañana, for the next three Saturdays they will host pop-up shows for Four Day Weekend in their Reid Cabaret Theatre. As always, the comedy troupe will perform a nearly two-hour show created from audience suggestions and participation. They'll be there through April 5; after that is up in the air, but here's hoping they find another permanent home soon.
Kolby Cooper in concert
Country singer Kolby Cooper came out of the East Texas town of Palestine just three years out of high school, with no label or industry machine in place. Since then, his songs have garnered millions of streams on Spotify, solidifying him as a voice of the future for Texas country music. He released his debut album, Boy From Anderson County To The Moon, in 2022. He'll play at Billy Bob's Texas.

Amon Carter Museum of American Art presents "Cowboy" closing day
Sunday will be the final day to view the nationally touring exhibition "Cowboy" at the Amon Carter Museum of American Art. The exhibition brings together approximately 70 cutting-edge contemporary artworks, including new commissions, from more than 25 artists, including Asian American, Latino, and Indigenous perspectives, all re-examining the significance of cowboy imagery in American culture.
Fort Worth Opera presents The McCammon Voice Competition
Fort Worth Opera's McCammon Voice Competition features 10 rising stars of the opera world, competing for $15,000 in prizes. Hosted by Fort Worth Opera, the biennial event is a rare chance to witness world-class talent up close, with the audience even getting to vote on one of the prizes. It takes place at Kimbell Art Museum.
