Japanese lifestyle store Teso Life to join H Mart Plaza in Haltom City

A fun Japanese lifestyle and fashion store is coming to the mid-cities: Teso Life, which sells everything from lavender-scented sun-blocking cream to apple-pie-flavored gummies, is opening its first location in Tarrant County, in the H-Mart Haltom City Plaza, at 820 N. Beach St. NE Loop 820.
According to a release, the store will occupy a 14,000-square-foot retail space and will open later in 2025.
Teso Life was founded in Queens, New York in 2017 by entrepreneur Andy Lin, emphasizing Japanese culture and aesthetics, including leading J-beauty brands, plus popular snacks in hard-to-find flavors such as green tea Kit Kats. The first store opened in 2018.
They collaborate with well-known Japanese suppliers and developers to provide diverse low-cost products in fashion and leisure, including beauty supplies, home goods, arts & crafts, and exotic foods.
They made their DFW debut in 2020 when they opened a 14,236-square-foot store in Carrollton, similarly in a center anchored by a 99 Ranch Market. Carrollton was the first store outside New York and only the fifth in the U.S. There are now 16 locations including Frisco and Houston, with 15 more in the works including San Antonio at 12720 Frontage Rd., also opening later this year.
"Teso Life is geared not only to the Japanese audience, but crosses all spectrums. Its products are rarely found in the U.S., but are common in Japan," says a spokesperson for Houston-based NewQuest Properties, the developer who first brought Teso Life to Texas and who appreciated the store's transformative power to make you feel as though you're in another country from the moment you enter the store.
Teso Life joins the buzzy 50-acre mixed-use development anchored by the H Mart at the southeast corner of Loop 820 and North Beach Street in Haltom City. H Mart is the grocery chain known for its selection of Asian products with seven stores in Texas, including Carrollton and Plano. The Haltom City store is anticipated to open in late 2025.
