New restaurant Southside Rambler nabs coolest patio in Fort Worth
A new restaurant-bar has nabbed the coolest patio in Fort Worth: It's called Southside Rambler, and it will take over the former La Zona space at 1264 W. Magnolia Ave. According to a release, it'll open in spring 2020.
Nicknamed "The Rambler," it'll be a restaurant/bar/live music venue that takes its inspiration from the roadside joints of West Texas. It'll serve cold beverages, with a casual yet elevated menu, and feature live music.
It'll make the most of its prime location on Magnolia Ave, with a main restaurant building plus upgraded patio featuring a new bar with multiple decks and cozy seating area.
Southside Rambler is from Kevin von Ehrenfried and his wife and business partner Julia von Ehrenfried who also own Arlington gastropub The Tipsy Oak,
Kevin says in a statement that they were thrilled at the opportunity to get their hands on this space and breathe fresh life into it. Decor will feature rich colors, natural woods, and an open-air design.
"The atmosphere is going to be second to none, but we can’t wait to bring our menu and service to the Southside," he says.
They'll open for lunch and dinner seven days a week, and will subsequently roll out weekend brunch.
The menu will feature burgers, sandwiches, salads, and appetizers, designed to pair with signature cocktails, wines, and 40 combined draft beer taps between the indoor & outdoor bars.
The patio will have an entertainment calendar featuring local musicians several days a week, with full food and drink service, fire pits, and a cedar deck available for private parties.
La Zona was opened in 2018 by the owners of Americado as an ambitious duel concept, Hotel Madrid and Saint Sofia. Hotel Madrid offered cocktails, beer, and pizza; Saint Sofia served coffee and churros. It closed in December 2019.
