Fort Worth gets its own location of Dallas' acclaimed Zoli's NY Pizza
After a successful relocation in 2017 to Addison, Zoli's NY Pizza, the acclaimed North Dallas pizzeria and Italian-American restaurant from Dallas restaurateur Jay Jerrier, is opening a second location: in Fort Worth.
The restaurant posted a YouTube video with news that the location is coming to Hulen Street in Fort Worth in 2019.
The video also has a joke about not having to eat "soggy pizza tortillas at Cane Rosso."
Zoli's started out in Oak Cliff, with a vision as a slice joint with a little extra. After three years, the location was targeted for development, and closed in 2016 before moving to its current location in Addison in November 2017.
While the basis for its greatness remains the culinary genius of chef Lee Hunzinger and the sophisticated pop culture savvy of Jerrier, Zoli's has since expanded its menu to include Italian-American classics such as chicken parm and meatball subs.
The restaurant has earned numerous nods including a nomination for Best Rising Star Chef for Hunzinger, and a Best New Restaurant nomination in CultureMap's 2018 Tastemaker Awards
Jerrier posted an amusing post on Facebook, saying, "We constantly get requests to reopen Zoli’s back in Oak Cliff to relive the glory days. Well we’ve heard you! ...and completely disregarded you so we’re bringing Zoli’s and CTC to Fort Worth after being threatened numerous times by Hans Peter Mueller [owner of Swiss Pastry Shop]."
"Since opening in Addison late last year, the No. 1 question we have been asked the most isn't 'Y U No Eat Gluten?' or 'why is your restaurant decorated like a child's bedroom?,' but rather...'when are you going to open one in Fort Worth?'" a spokesman says. "Well, we heard you, and we'll see you on Hulen in 2019."
