This Week in Gluttony
These are the 5 best food and drink events in Fort Worth this week
Family-friendly happy hours are hard to come by, but one Fort Worth distillery is catering to parents this week with “sundae funday” event for all ages. Also on the agenda: a chic cocktail competition, Napa Valley wine dinner, and a beer float party featuring one of Fort Worth’s most popular ice creams. There’s a brand new barrel-aged spirit in town, too, and the release party is set for Saturday.

From 5-8 pm, guests of all ages can visit for live music and a sundae bar. The $15 adult ticket comes with a cocktail and a sundae (with a TX Whiskey floater, if desired). Tickets are $10 for those under 21. Sundaes can come with vanilla or chocolate ice cream with toppings ranging from cinnamon whipped cream and double chocolate brownie bits to bourbon butterscotch and whiskey pecans. Gepetto’s Pizza Truck will be on site, and a portion of the event proceeds will benefit The Ladder Alliance.

Summer flavors shine in this five-course wine dinner, which comes with five different Napa wines. Release Party at BlackEyed Distilling
The makers of Blk Eye Vodka barreled a new spirit more than two years ago, and they’re ready to release it. Blk Eye Spirit Number 5 looks like whiskey, smells like whiskey, and tastes like whiskey, but it can’t be called whiskey because it’s made with black-eyed peas, which is not a grain. Visit the Southside distillery from 2-9 pm to try the new spirit, which will only be available in limited quantities. Reservations are encouraged.
