Irving picks up local produce with 2 new farmers markets
Not one to be left behind on the buy-local trend, the city of Irving has introduced two new European-style farmers markets, where individuals can meet local farmers, artisanal food producers, and craftspeople, and purchase products in a colorful, family-friendly venue.
Local foods and music also are planned to provide attendees an opportunity to dine while enjoying the market.
The two markets are at different locations on different days, giving a wider range of customers the opportunity to shop. Both are weekend days, which makes them very convenient.
Irving Arts Center Farmers Market is at Irving Arts Center, 3333 N. MacArthur Blvd., and is open on Saturdays, from 9 am-2 pm.
Heritage Crossing Farmers Market is at Clock Tower, the 200 block of Main Street at Rock Island Road, on Sundays from 10 am-2 pm.
The markets come from Four Seasons Markets, which has been opening markets at centers across Dallas-Fort Worth, from Casa Linda to Highland Park Village. Their vendor lineup includes produce and artisanal goods, including breads, honey, jellies, chocolates, and more. For information, call 972-884-0680.
