Sports City Taverna is a new sports bar at 5711 Golden Triangle Blvd. in Fort Worth that opened in July. The staples of the menu are burgers, pizza, and beer, but they also serve tacos, wings, and even the occasional entree such as salmon, plus desserts including Italian cream cake, plus breakfast including eggs and pancakes (although they don't open until 11 am, but on the flipside, they stay open until 2 am). Lunch specials include a Philly cheesesteak with fries, turkey sub, ham sub, and gyro sandwich. The interior has big-screen TVs sprinkled throughout, and they also have a huge patio on the side of the building, with stringed lights and seating for 40.

Roadrun'r Exotic Cereal Bar is a cereal bar now open in Arlington at 1201 W. Arbrook Blvd., serving cereal, whether plain as in a bowl of Frosted Flakes, or as an extreme dessert, as in Frosted Flakes topped with whipped cream, ice cream, and gummy bears. According toFWTX, it's the first cereal bar of its kind in Tarrant County.

Las Pericas, a Mexican restaurant at 915 E. Northside Dr. in Fort Worth, has closed. The restaurant posted the news on its Facebook page, stating that "due to personal reasons we will be closed until further notice. Thank you for your support and loyalty that has allowed us to continue our business. We hope to serve you again in the future."

Little Lilly Sushi, the unique award-winning sushi spot on Camp Bowie Blvd., reopened on August 26. The restaurant named for chef and co-owner Danny Liu's granddaughter had been closed since May after a kitchen fire.

Salad and Go has opened (another) new location, this time in Arlington at 938 N. Cooper St. The chain known for cheap salads to go is on the brink of opening 20 locations in DFW.

Whistle Britches, the fried chicken concept from chef Omar Flores, has new menu items including Buffalo Fried Cauliflower with ranch dressing, Corn Fritters, and Grilled Chicken Fredo with fusilli pasta, at all three locations in Southlake, Plano, and Dallas.

Sweet Lucy's Pies, the made-to-order pie company in Fort Worth which sells at farmers markets as well as home delivery, has a new late summer menu of pies, priced from $38 to $40, including: Earl Grey Lemon Icebox, a buttermilk pie with whipped cream on a graham-cracker crust; Blueberry-Banana, with blueberries, bananas, and cream cheese on a flaky crust; Whisky Peach Buttermilk, also on a flaky crust; and a Cherry Galette, in a rustic folded crust. El Pollo Loco has a new quesadilla with shredded chicken, mild tomato salsa, melted cheese, diced onion, and cilantro. It comes in a combo with a drink and side of tortilla chips for $5. It joins three other combos: classic chicken burrito, original Pollo bowl, and tacos al carbon.

La Madeleine has new menu items for fall including Pumpkin Streusel Muffin, Chai Tea Latte, Pumpkin Spice Latte, and Caramel Apple Danish (available after Labor Day).

7-Eleven has two new pizzas: Breakfast pizza with gravy, mozzarella cheese, cheddar cheese, and breakfast sausage; and Veggie with diced red bell pepper, green bell pepper, white onions, and sliced mushrooms. They've also launched the 7Collection, an online shop with 7-Eleven-themed T-shirts, hats, and memorabilia.

Smoothie King has a new Espresso that can be added to any smoothie, with 159 mg of caffeine per 20-ounce drink (twice as much as their Cold Brew's 83 mg of caffeine). For example, you could add an Espresso to their Coffee Mocha Smoothie with Sunwarrior Organic plant-based protein, banana, dates, Califia Farms Oat Milk, and cocoa.

Dunkin' has ushered in the pumpkin with Pumpkin Cream Cold Brew, Pumpkin Spice Signature Latte, and Nutty Pumpkin Coffee.

Black Rock Coffee Bar has a new lineup of fall drinks available September 1-October 31 including the Pumpkin Blondie, Salted Caramel Chai, Candied Cranberry Fuel, and Caramel Apple Smoothie combining ice cream, green apple base, caramel, ice, and whipped cream.
