A Portland, Oregon restaurant chain with good food and craft beer is doubling down on DFW: Thirsty Lion Gastropub & Grill opened at the new Glade Parks Town Center in Euless on December 4.
This is the second location for the chain; the first opened at Toyota Music Factory in 2017.
John Plew, president-CEO of Concept Entertainment Group Ltd., which is Thirsty Lion's parent company, says in a release that they're thrilled to be opening their second Texas location, and especially in Euless.
"We're extremely excited to open at Glade Parks Town Center, the response from the neighborhood and surrounding businesses has been extremely positive," Plew says.
Glade Parks Town Center is pretty much the center of the universe: 5 miles from DFW Airport, 10 miles from AT&T Stadium, in close range to Grapevine, Southlake, and Colleyville. The company hopes that people will come there before or after work, high school games, and major concerts and sports events.
The restaurant seats 191, with a 25-seat centerpiece bar with full view of the action in the exhibition kitchen.
Outside are two expansive and inviting patios, seating 169, with a fire pit and flat screen TVs. The patio will be covered with option for heating and able to be booked for special events.
The location will also showcase an open-air kitchen, 36 different draft beers, craft cocktails, wine program with 25 wines by the glass—all trademarks of the Thirsty Lion brand. The interior design features wood treatments, custom made chandeliers, and a mixture of high and low dining tables.
Signature dishes include BBQ pork & kimchi fried rice, seared ahi salad, roasted pork Cubano sandwich, The Gastropub burger with Gorgonzola cheese, bacon-wrapped BBQ prawns, and Scotch eggs.
The menu also features shareable appetizers, salads, brick-oven pizzas, sandwiches, seafood, half-pound burgers, and steaks. Vegetarian and gluten-free options are also available.
The bar features a large selection of craft beers on tap, many local to Texas. Cocktails utilize fresh fruit purees, juices, and premium liquors. The list features modern takes on classic cocktails as well as signature drinks such as grapefruit basil martini and blood orange margarita. For the holidays, there's a salted caramel Moroccan coffee.
Thirsty Lion Gastropub & Grill is also known for sports viewing, and is equipped with a dozen HD flat screens inside and out. Thirsty Lion specifically programs its sports schedule every day to make sure that all sports viewing requests in the area are met.
Glade Parks Town Center is the new retail and residential center located near I-121 and Glade Road with 800,000 square feet of retail, entertainment and dining over 194 acres.
Thirsty Lion currently has nine locations and three more planned for the next year, including a location at Grandscape in The Colony in summer 2019.
