This week also brings some tasty educational opportunities, including a bloody Mary making class, a brisket smoking class, and a sugar cookie decorating class. Pop-Up Beach Party at Atico
Tim Love's rooftop restaurant and bar at the Springhill Suites in the Fort Worth Stockyards will host a beach-themed gal pal party coinciding with National Girlfriend Day. In addition to boutique vendors selling boots, clothes, flowers, and salon services, the restaurant will offer a prix-fixe menu special that includes three courses and a glass of wine or Codigo Rose margarita for $80. Menu choices range from steak and oysters to short rib and churros. The party starts at 6 pm.

Happy Hour at The Kimbell
Friday means it’s time for an after-hours happy hour at the Kimbell Café inside the Kimbell Art Museum’s Kahn Building. Enjoy live music by the Allegro Guitar Society along with beverages and bites available for purchase. (Members receive 10 percent off.) Admission is free.

Brisket U at Rahr & Sons Brewing Co.
Barbecue season is still in full swing and even the most greenhorn pitmaster can learn how to smoke brisket like the pros during this educational class at Rahr & Sons Brewing Company. Everything from selecting the cut and managing the fire to trimming the final product will be covered. Tickets are $139 ($129 for additional participants) and class will run from 10 am-1 pm.
Pick Your Poison: Bloody Mary at Restaurant 506
Learn how to make the perfect bloody Mary during this cocktail class led by bartenders from Arlington’s Restaurant 506 at The Sanford House. The brunch-time class is $35 and will run from 11 am-12 pm. Light bites included.
17th Annual Harvest Fiesta & Grape Stomp at Lost Oak Winery
The Burleson winery will host an old fashioned, family-friendly grape stomp giving guests the opportunity to crush grapes with their bare feet in I Love Lucy fashion. (Dress like Lucy for a chance to win prizes in a costume contest.) There’ll be live music with a full band, food trucks including Hibachigo and Nona’s Argentina Bakery, and vendors. Admission to the event is free, but tickets to stomp are $25 and come with a commemorative bag. The event will run from 6-9 pm with stomp timeslots available every half-hour until 8 pm.

Poolside Cookie Decorating Class at Waterside
This hands-on sugar cookie decorating class hosted by Aly’s Sweet Spot will take place in the community room at the Waterside development. While the class is not actually "poolside," cookie creations will feature a poolside theme – innertubes, flamingos, pool hats, and towels. Tickets are $65 and class will run from 12:30-2:30 pm.
