During Fort Worth Stock Show & Rodeo season, making pre-rodeo dinner plans is almost as important as finding rodeo tickets. Fortunately many local restaurants, especially those situated near Dickies Arena and Will Rogers Memorial Center, are catering to rodeo patrons with dining specials and extended hours.

If you're not already chowing down at the Stock Show-satellite locations of Reata and Pulido's Kitchen & Cantina, use this guide to local restaurants offering something special to satisfy hungry cowboys and cowgirls. (It will continue to be updated as more are announced.) And if you're up for a post-rodeo nightcap, visit one of these local bars after the last bull makes his final buck of the night.

Clay Pigeon Food & Drink
Marcus Paslay’s fine dining destination is normally closed on Sunday and Monday. But during rodeo season, the restaurant is open daily for guests to get their fix of caviar deviled eggs, bone marrow with fennel salad, steaks, house-made pastas, and chocolate pot de crème. 2731 White Settlement Rd.

Don Artemio
The fine dining destination for upscale Mexican cuisine is offering a three-course rodeo special ($69) featuring choice of taco de lengua or ceviche; an entrée choice of salmon with green mole, filet with truffle mashed potatoes, or stuffed poblano pepper; and choice of tres leches cake with ice cream or chocolate cake for dessert. Don Artemio is also hosting a Western-inspired art exhibit called EQUUS featuring equine sculptures by Saltillo, Mexico-based artist Alejandro Fuentes Gil. 3268 W. 7th St.

Dos Mares
Don Artemio’s new sister seafood restaurant next door also has a three-course rodeo special ($59) featuring choice of ceviche tostada or sea bass tempura taco, and entrée choice of fish of the day or 10-ounce skirt steak with marbled potatoes, and deconstructed key lime pie for dessert. 3260 W. 7^th St.

Duchess
The Nobleman Hotel signature restaurant is offering two rodeo specials. At the bar, enjoy Rodeo Sliders made with Wagyu beef, crispy onions, cheddar cheese, and "Southside Sauce" ($12). In the restaurant, featured is a 16-ounce bone-in cowboy ribeye ($125). 503 Bryan Ave.

Fred’s Texas Café
Fresh off opening its first location outside Fort Worth in Crowley, Fred’s Texas Café is featuring chili two ways for rodeo season. Visit the Camp Bowie location for a bowl of Texas red chili made with house-ground beef, corn chips, onions, jalapenos, cheddar cheese, and no beans; or green chili lamb stew, slow-simmered with Australian lamb, green chiles, potatoes, and carrots, topped with tortilla strips and served with fried tortillas for dipping. 7101 Camp Bowie Blvd.

Gustos
The Near Southide smashburger bar is offering the Wrangler Burger ($13) with two smashed patties, American cheese, puffy fried onions, homemade sweet and tangy barbecue sauce, thick bacon, Best Maid pickles, and a side of fresh jalapeños on a buttered and toasted burger bun. Pair it with barbecue bacon cheese tots ($10) and The Kentucky Buck ($12) Buffalo Trace bourbon cocktail made with strawberry puree, lemon juice, and ginger beer. Los Vaqueros
The Stockyards location of the Fort Worth Tex-Mex favorite has introduced a new rodeo-time menu of handcrafted cocktails. Cowboy-inspired sips include the Rodeo Julep ($19), Cowboy Gold Rush ($16), Midnight Shindig ($16), and The Original Cowboy ($15). For the little wranglers, there's a Shirley Temple Float in a take-home boot glass ($8.50). All paired best, they say, with an order of Armadillo Tails ($12). 2513 Rodeo Plaza.

Michaels Cuisine
The longtime destination for contemporary ranch cuisine is located just a lasso’s throw from the Stock Show grounds. Chef and owner Michael Thomson features a special rodeo menu every year, with this year’s to offer shareable apps like chipotle meatballs ($20), quail “stix” ($20), jalapeno cilantro cream soup ($12), and share-size desserts like TX Whiskey Texas peach and apricot apple cobbler bread pudding ($12). Daily specials include prime rib Tuesdays, fried chicken Wednesdays, and backyard barbecue chicken Thursdays. 3413 W. 7^th St.

Provender Hall
This Stockyards stop for upscale Southern comfort cuisine from Marcus Paslay is featuring a new Rodeo Burger ($19) made with a third-pound patty topped with bacon, jalapenos, American cheese, lettuce, tomato, pickles, and “secret sauce” served on a potato roll with crispy French fries. 122 E. Quince
The Trinity Riverside restaurant is featuring a stick-to-your ribs Cowboy Dinner for two including a 16-ounce bone-in ribeye served with Cajun grilled shrimp, and Caesar salad, along with a shared appetizer and dessert for $99. The special is good through February 28. 1701 River Run.

The steakhouse and sports bar at I-30 and University Drive is offering a “Best of Show” ribeye special ($64) featuring a 14-ounce black angus ribeye served with roasted vegetables and sweet potato puree. Pair with a specialty themed cocktail, like the Barrel Racer ($15) made with lemonade, iced tea, and Crown Royal Blackberry and finish with a dessert special ($8) of Crown Royal chocolate pudding cake with cinnamon sugar. 1501 S.
