These are the 10 best food and drink events in Fort Worth this week
The biggest culinary awards celebration in town, the 2024 CultureMap Tastemaker Awards, are finally here. The first few days of May also bring events to pop the rosé, pull out the Derby hat, and salt the rim for Cinco de Mayo. There are festivities for all this week, as well as one more crawfish boil, a fine wine dinner, and two up-and-coming festivals.
Tuesday, April 30
5-Course Caymus Vineyards Wine Dinner at B&B Butchers & Restaurant
You know them, you love them – those classic Caymus wines. Enjoy them paired with an indulgent five-course menu at the Clearfork steakhouse. Menu items include tuna, salmon, and scallop crudo, Japanese A5 Wagyu seared on a sizzling salt block, 55-day dry-aged Wagyu ribeye, braised short rib Wellington, and mini bananas foster. The dinner is $250, plus tax and gratuity, and begins at 6:30 pm.
April Wine Tasting at Fitzgerald
Santa Margarita’s Ancient Peaks Winery will be featured during this spring wine tasting at Fitzgerald. The $35 ticket (plus tax and gratuity) includes four tasting pours - two white and two red - chef-prepared light bites, tasting notes, recipe cards, and education along the way. The tasting will run from 6:30-8:30 pm.

CultureMap Fort Worth Tastemaker Awards
Our annual celebration of Fort Worth’s top restaurant and bar talent finally arrives this week, at the 4 Eleven (411 S. Main St.). Hosted by chef Jon Bonnell, the evening will feature sample bites and specialty sips from award nominees, including Teddy Wongs, Bricks and Horses, Plank Seafood Provisions, Atlas, and more. Winners will be revealed in all categories, including the reader-voted Best New Restaurant. Tickets are $75 for entry at 7 pm, or $125 for VIP tickets that include early entry at 6 pm and a dedicated bar. Proceeds benefit Cuisine for Healing.

Cinco de Mayo Glass Giveaway at Pappasito's
Need some new glassware? The Tex-Mex chain will give away the glass for those who order the Reserva Margarita - shaken with Corazon reposado tequila and Grand Marnier - on both Saturday and Sunday while supplies last. Save room for limited-edition tres leches cheesecake, available only through May 5.
Cinco de Crawfish at The Cajun Market & Bourbon Street Bar & Grill
The Bedford Cajun destination will host a two-day Cinco de Mayo-inspired crawfish party featuring $5 Cajun Ritas (with a Cajun spiced rim), crawfish for $5.99 a pound, and live music all day on Sunday.
TX Whiskey Down & Derby Day
Get down and derby at Whiskey Ranch during this Kentucky Derby party. Wear your best derby-inspired attire and get 10 percent off in the Ranch Store and a chance to win a prize. There’ll be live music, a photo booth, food truck, and TX Mint Juleps. Catch all of the Kentucky Derby race action in the Oak Room and Tavern TV, too. The event will run from 2-7 pm. (Note the official race time for the Derby is 5:57 pm.)
4th Annual Rosé Soirée at Hotel Vin
There are just a few tickets left for this popular rosé-all-day party at downtown Grapevine’s premier hotel. The $69 ticket (plus tax and a small fee) includes a passport good for 10 tastings from more than 30 wine vendors, along with specialty cocktails, food pairings, and live entertainment. The pink party will run from 3-6 pm.
North Pacific Islander Festival
Taking place in Bedford at Generations Park at Boys Ranch, the second annual event will showcase the cuisine and culture of the Pacific Islands. The entire event will take place from 12-8 pm, and James Beard Award-winning chef Sam Choy, aka “the Godfather of Poke,” will host a poke demonstration from 2-2:30 pm. Admission is free. Those who want a more in-depth experience with Choy can attend a VIP pre-festival dinner showcasing his Hawaiian fusion cuisine at Pineapple Grill in Hurst on Friday, May 3. Tickets are $100 per person and the dinner will run from 5-8 pm.
Sunday, May 5
Cinco de Mayo at Truck Yard Alliance
Down to fiesta? The Truck Yard will host Tex-Mex food trucks, live music, mini dog races (pre-register online), and drink specials all day, including double margaritas that come with a free Luchador mask, while supplies last. Also take a chance on prize-filled pinatas, free for both kids and adults to play. The party will run from 11 am-11:30 pm.
Fort Worth Veg Fest
Belentys Love Mexican Vegan Restaurant and its sister, Vida Cafe, will host this family- and pet-friendly outdoor market featuring vegan cuisine and goods. The event will take place from 12-5 pm at the restaurants (3516-3522 Bluebonnet Circle) and admission is free.
