The Dirdie Birdie Grand Opening
Austin-based venue The Dirdie Birdie, an immersive indoor miniature golf course with a full restaurant and bar, is finally opening in Fort Worth in the West 7th District, at 2821 Morton St. (No relation to Fort Worth bar Birdie's Social Club, although the two "Birdies" will now be confusing.) Opening day festivities tee off at 11 am. The first 100 guests in the door will get a choice of free appetizer, free drink, or free round of golf. Menu standouts include Steak Frites, 24-Hour Coffee Braised Short Rib, and the brand new 7th Street Smash Burger. It will be open until 2 am.

The Fruit Truck
The South Dakota-based, family-owned fresh fruit delivery truck delivers non-GMO produce from family-run farms and orchards from more than 20 states, and the truck is making a few quick stops in DFW this week. Visit the Ace Hardware store at 4440 Basswood Blvd. from 1:30-2 pm for Georgia peaches, dark cherries, apricots, and honey. Or catch them in Grapevine at 1250 William D. Tate Ave. from 2:45-3 pm.

Soccer Time Stein Day at Maple Branch Craft Brewery
Just in time for one of the last World Cup soccer Saturdays, the Foundry District brewery is inviting visitors to bring their own stein glass for pours that start at $6 for up to 20 ounces, and top out at $12 for up to 48 ounces. The special, available for all beers under eight percent ABV, runs from 11 am-11 pm.
Big Dill Bash at Best Maid Pickle Emporium
Best Maid Pickle, which is celebrating its 100th anniversary this year, will host an afternoon pickle party at their Near Southside souvenir shop. It will offer free pickle tastings, free pickle juice snow cones, sales up to 20 percent off, and photo ops with Smiley the Best Maid mascot. The party will run from 12-3 pm.

Fort Worth Community Market
This monthly open-air market takes place at 105 S. Main St. and features more than 75 vendors with homegrown and handmade items. Think produce, baked goods, spices, coffee, fresh juice, cheeses, plants, honey, nut spreads, global foods, and more. There’s also live music and kids activities. The event will run from 9 am-1 pm.
Afternoon Tea at Central Market Cooking School
There’s no cooking involved for participants during this afternoon tea service at the Central Market Fort Worth Cooking School. Guests can relax and enjoy fine teas paired with accompanying dishes like blackberry-lemon sweet rolls, herbed cucumber tea sandwiches, savory apple rose tartlets, caramelized onion and roast beef tea sandwiches, chocolate scones with clotted cream, mini layered cherry cakes, mini mango and kiwi pavlovas, and chocolate truffles. They'll offer a few tips on tea brewing, as well. The class is $70 and will run from 4-5:30 pm.
July Sunday Supper at Ellerbe Fine Foods
The farm-to-table restaurant serves up a family-style supper featuring elevated takes on Southern comfort favorites. The menu includes fried chicken with house-made bread and butter pickles and buttermilk dressing (chicken tenders for the littles), mashed potatoes, greens, melon salad, and buttermilk biscuits with whipped butter and honey. End with peaches and cream cobbler with streusel topping. The price is $45 ($15 for children 12 and under), and seating times run from 5-8 pm.
