German fest leads 6 best food and drink events in Fort Worth this week
Maifest is like Oktoberfest in May.
The unofficial start to summer is here and one local pizzeria is celebrating with an all-you-can-eat kid-friendly pizza party. In other tasty tidbits, an award-winning Mexican eatery will go Italian for a week, a local brewery will host a corny dog fest with pickle relish mustard flavored beer, and a popular beer garden will host three days of German food, drink, and cultural traditions. Pull out the lederhosen and prepare to prost!

Zoli’s End of School Bash
Celebrate the start of summer vacation at Zoli’s with all-you-can-eat pizza and a kid-friendly play area. Visit starting at 5 pm for endless slices of 10 of Zoli’s most popular pies ($25 for adults, $12.50 for children). At lunchtime, families can enjoy fresh smashburgers and hot dogs on the patio, plus face painting for the kids, from 11 am-3 pm. Reservations recommended.

The Italian Takeover by Don Artemio
Mexico meets Italy during this Italian-inspired menu takeover at Don Artemio, which will kick off with a five-course Italian wine dinner. Guest chef Julián Martínez Bello, founder of contemporary Italian restaurant Sepia in Mexico City, will collaborate with Don Artemio chef Rodrigo Cardenas on dishes like fresh tagliolini with black truffle, champagne risotto with foie gras and roasted fig, and slow-cooked cabrito with cacciatore sauce. The dinner is $225 and begins at 6:30 pm. Guests may also order from a special Italian festival menu at Don Artemio May 29-June 7.

Maifest at Crystal Springs Hideaway
The River District wine and beer garden – which was just named the 2026 CultureMap Fort Worth Tastemaker Awards Bar of the Year – will host its second annual Maifest, a German tradition that celebrates the coming of spring. Fort Worth recorded its first Maifest (pronounced “my-fest”) in 1882 when German immigrants brought the celebration to Cowtown. The three-day event, Friday through Sunday, will feature German party bands, stein hoisting competitions, special bratwurst and pretzel menu items, and $5 Paulaner and Spaten German draft beers. Wear lederhosen and get a free three-day ticket to this year’s Fort Worth Oktoberfest, to be held September 24-26.

Ice Cream Social at SiNaCa Studios
Magnolia Avenue’s longtime glass blowing studio will host a summer fundraiser with ice cream scoops from Melt Ice Creams ($5). The event marks the end of “hot shop activity” for the season. Patrons can help empty SiNaCa’s furnace of molten glass by creating a one-of-a-kind keepsake (prices vary) or simply donate to help the studio maintain its historic building. Pepe’s Taqueria food truck will also be on-site. The event will run from 11 am-3 pm.
Glizzy Fest 2026 at Martin House Brewing Company
Fletcher’s Original Corny Dog food truck will be on-site at Martin House Brewing Company for a corny dog festival complete with Best Maid Mustard Relish Pickle Beer. There’ll also be live music by Whiskey Boys. Kids and pets are welcome. Wristbands will be good for four 12-ounce pours, and a souvenir Fletcher’s Original Corny Dog glass is $20. The event will run from 12-5 pm.

A Lone Star Brunch at Central Market Cooking School
Learn to incorporate Texas flavors into classic brunch dishes during this hands-on cooking class, open to those age 13 and up. The menu includes melon, peach, and cucumber salad, beef tenderloin eggs Benedict with jalapeno hollandaise, cast iron pappas con chorizo, and pecan sticky buns. The class is $95 and begins at 11 am.
