These are the 5 best food and drink events in Fort Worth this week

Cheers to five years for Blackland Distillery.
The first official day of spring arrives this week and with it comes lots of tasty celebrations: free ice cream, a baseball-themed bottle launch, and a distillery birthday party. It's also still Women's History Month and there are two wine events just for the occasion.
Tuesday, March 19
Free Cone Day at Dairy Queen
This year’s first official day of spring is March 19 and DQ restaurants in Texas are ready to celebrate the impending arrival of warmer weather. Visit any location for a complimentary small plain soft serve cone, no purchase required. Customers can also enjoy this month’s featured Mint Brownie Blizzard, blended with brownie pieces and chocolate chunks.
Wednesday, March 20
Women’s History Month Wine Tasting at Central Market
The gourmet grocer will shine a light on ladies in the wine and cheesemaking industries in honor of Women’s History Month. Participants will sample two sparkling wines and a true champagne paired with an array of rich cheeses – all women-owned or women-made. The tasting is $65 per person and begins at 6:30 pm in the Central Market Cooking School.
Thursday, March 21
Meet the Maker Wine Dinner at Hotel Vin
Meet winemaker Katie Madigan of St. Francis Winery & Vineyards in Sonoma during this wine-pairing dinner at Bacchus Kitchen and Bar, located inside downtown Grapevine’s Hotel Vin. Madigan will talk through her selected wines as guests work their way through three courses. The per person price is $102 (plus tax and a small fee) and a welcome reception begins at 6 pm.
Friday, March 22
Baseball Bottle Release Party at Whiskey Ranch
Toast the arrival of baseball season (and our World Series champion Texas Rangers) by snagging a limited-edition baseball-themed bottle of TX Whiskey. The distillery will offer complimentary engraving with bottle purchase. There’ll also be a screening of the movie Major League in the Oak Room, food truck fare, and a surprise Major League Baseball guest. The $10 entry fee includes a cocktail from the bar and the event will run from 6–9 pm.
Saturday, March 23
Blackland Distillery’s 5th Anniversary Party
Art deco-inspired cocktail lounge, tasting room, and spirits distillery in The Foundry District (and past CultureMap Fort Worth Tastemaker Award winner for Bar of the Year) will celebrate five years in business with party and bottle launch. Visit from 2-6 pm for complimentary tastings, including samples of Texpresso Whiskey, Blackland’s brand new 70-proof spirit. Offering notes of coffee, brown sugar, and pecans, the whiskey won’t hit liquor store shelves until April, but will be available for presale during the distillery event. There’ll also be a food truck, raffle drawings, DJ music, and an open house with “educational stations.” Admission is free.
