German fest tops 5 best food and drink events in Fort Worth this week

Crystal Springs Hideaway will host its inaugural German "Maifest."
A new German-inspired two-day festival featuring polka bands and German food and drink will debut in Fort Worth this week that has roots dating back to 1882. Save room for a dessert date night, pizza pop-up, and an island-themed cookie class. Find zen by Sunday with a yoga class paired with superfood cocktails and brunch.

Maifest at Crystal Springs Hideaway
The River District wine and beer garden will host its inaugural Maifest, a celebration of German tradition that will honor Fort Worth’s German roots. The free festival will feature German polka party bands, special bratwurst and pretzel menu items, and $5 Paulaner German draft beers. The party will run all day Friday and Saturday. Lederhosen encouraged!
Desserts After Dark at Hao's Grocery & Café
This late-night dessert service for two includes an assortment of small desserts and a pot of pressed café de olla coffee, all beautifully plated with vintage dishware. Tickets are $35 (for two) and seating times are 8:30 pm, 9:30 pm, and 10:30 pm.

Hula & Hops: A Tropical Cookie Decorating Class at Turning Point Beer
Get ready for summer with this island-inspired cookie decorating class hosted by Aly’s Sweet Spot at Bedford’s Turning Point Beer. Learn to use royal icing to create tropical-themed sugar cookies. The $55 ticket price comes with all supplies needed to decorate a box of cookies to enjoy or take, and a pint of Turning Point beer. Class will run from 2 – 3:30 pm.
Baked Pizzeria Pop-Up at The Black Rooster Bakery
Touting Texas-style New York pizza made with dough fermented for three days, pizza pop-up Baked Pizzeria will sling pies for an afternoon at Black Rooster Bakery from 3–7 pm.

Vinyasa at the Vin
The first Sunday of the month means Hotel Vin in Grapevine hosts its monthly yoga and brunch experience. Partake in a vinyasa flow class led by Inspire Yoga followed by a complimentary “superfood” cocktail by Hendricks Gin. Participants also get 20 percent off brunch at Bacchus Kitchen + Bar. The hour-long class is $25, plus tax and a small fee, and begins at 9 am.
