On the move
Fort Worth favorite Piattello Italian Kitchen will move to Clearfork
Fort Worth chef Marcus Paslay is moving one of the city's best-known restaurants to one of its most high-profile developments: Piattello Italian Kitchen will relocate from its longtime spot at Waterside to The Shops at Clearfork this fall.
According to a release, the restaurant will open in a new three-story mixed-use building called The Offices at Clearfork, located at the corner of Marathon Avenue and Ozona Boulevard. It's scheduled to open in its new home in November 2026.
Paslay debuted Piattello in 2017 and built a quick following for his housemade pastas, pizzas, breads, and seasonal Italian menu. Right out of the gate, it won Restaurant of the Year in the 2018 CultureMap Tastemaker Awards.
(Fun fact: Piattello means "plate" in Italian, but it also refers to the term "clay pigeon," which is the name of the restaurant Paslay opened in 2013.)
The new location will be about a mile from its current home at Waterside, but will offer significantly more space, the owners say: 5,620 square feet with about 160 indoor seats, plus a 40-seat patio.
It will also add lunch service, allowing the restaurant to serve guests for both lunch and dinner seven days a week, they say.
“After nearly 10 incredible years at Waterside, this move felt like the natural next step for our team,” says Paslay in the release. “We’re only moving about a mile down the road, which means we still get to serve the neighborhood and community that built Piattello from the beginning, while bringing a Fort Worth-owned concept into one of the city’s most visited and luxurious developments."

He says the restaurant's core menu will not change. Their signature handmade pastas and Italian comfort dishes will carry over to the new location, along with some new menu items that will be announced later this summer.
“We’re thrilled to be the first local restaurant to join Clearfork, and the opportunity also allows us to expand our hours with lunch and dinner service seven days a week so guests can enjoy Piattello even more often,” Paslay says. “From our from-scratch offerings, homemade pastas, and to the way we welcome every guest through the door, we believe our approach to hospitality is the perfect fit for the energy and experience Clearfork has crafted.”
The addition is notable for Clearfork, whose restaurant lineup has largely consisted of national and regional brands, the release notes. Piattello will become the development's first locally owned Fort Worth restaurant.
The restaurant will anchor the ground floor of The Offices at Clearfork, a recently completed 70,000-square-foot office and retail building. The project is also slated to house a major office for Wells Fargo.
“Piattello is a natural addition to the retail, restaurant and mixed-use environment at The Shops at Clearfork, which continues to set the standard as Fort Worth’s premier walkable destination,” says Patrick Peterman, senior vice president of mixed-use at Simon, in the release. “The restaurant’s fresh, ever-evolving menu reinforces the elevated, experience-driven offering that defines the center for both diners and shoppers. We’re grateful to Chef Paslay and the entire Piattello team for bringing this exciting new concept to life at Clearfork."
The move comes as Piattello approaches a milestone anniversary: The restaurant will celebrate 10 years in business in January 2027, just a few months after opening its new Clearfork location.
A spokesperson for Piattello says they hope to keep the Waterside location open for as long as possible, so that there are only a few days between the closing of the old restaurant and opening of the new.
