TB's Laundromat & Cafe combines laundry and coffee shop in Fort Worth

Here's a combination business you don't see every day: Laundromat and coffee shop. But that will change soon in north Fort Worth with the arrival of TB’s Laundromat and Cafe, located at 7430 North Beach St. #100, in the Basswood Crossing shopping center, opening in late March.
TB's will serve all your laundry (and coffee-drinking) needs — whether you want to do your own laundry or drop your laundry off and pick up when it's done.
Having a coffee shop on the premises would surely be a blessing for anyone who's sat in a laundromat fiberglass chair, waiting and watching their laundry spin round and round.
The concept comes from husband-and-wife Michael and Ellie Kolek, both Marine veterans, who've equipped the space with the latest, high-quality washing and drying machines and are incorporating a coffee shop with coffee drinks and baked goods such as muffins, cookies, and Danish — "like a Starbucks inside a laundromat," Michael says.
The idea to do coffee was driven by the fact that Michael and his siblings own a coffee farm in Panama which where they’ll be sourcing their beans for their coffee at TB's.
“Our coffee sells in the Orient and the Middle East, and I wanted to bring it here,” he says. “People who open food-based ventures typically don’t make it. However, people who open up laundromats typically do make it.”
In addition to self-service, they'll also offer wash and fold, both to individuals and to businesses.
“We have a drive-through where people can drop off their laundry," Michael says. "We'll have a van and a driver for pickup and delivery."
Delivery will be available in surrounding areas including Blue Mound, Haltom City, Keller, Saginaw, and Watauga.
They also wanted to create a community space for groups like working moms with young children, and are planning a play area for kids while their parents do their laundry.
This isn’t the only venture for this entrepreneurial couple: They’ve partnered with other military veterans to open a gym next door to the laundry called AT Fitness, which will offer fitness classes for both adults and kids.
Basswood Shopping center is also home to Moe's Country Kitchen, which opened in December, and Spice & Slice, which opened in February.
