Glitzy new golf-themed entertainment venue swings open in Fort Worth
A sprawling new golf-themed "eatertainment" venue called BigShots Golf finally has opened in far north Fort Worth, offering a little something fun for everyone — from avid golfers to connoisseurs of Hot Cheetos.
BigShots, which broke ground in October 2019 near the Marriott Champion Circle and Golf Club, describes itself as "a tech-driven entertainment and culinary experience."
On the "entertainment" side, it's got 56 state-of-the-art tee boxes; an outdoor patio with fire pits, yard games, and mini golf; and interactive arcade games — such as Knockout and Pinball — for kids. Cutting-edge technology drives the experience for golfers, they say.
"Those looking to perfect their swing can hit practice balls or play full rounds on virtual golf courses all over the world," the company says in a release. "Doppler radar technology provides data on swing, speed, and distance to give a more authentic golfing experience."
On the "culinary" side, a full-scratch kitchen serves up elevated sports bar cuisine, including a PB & jam burger and Flamin’ Hot Cheetos mozzarella bites. Signature cocktails, local craft beers, and weekend brunch are also offered.
Several private event spaces can be booked for parties, team building, and tournaments.
“BigShots Golf Fort Worth offers guests a fun and exhilarating golf, dining, and social experience,” says Tim O’Reilly, a principal franchise owner of BigShots Golf Fort Worth, in the release. “Our venue will be a place where folks from across the Metroplex and state can come to enjoy our state-of-the-art games and an incredible yet unexpected food and beverage experience with friends and family.”
Prices vary by day and time: $32-$37 per hour, per bay, before 5 pm, and $47-$49 per hour, per bay, after 5 pm.
The venue is open now at 15700 Golf View Dr., Fort Worth. A grand opening event will take place Saturday, April 17; watch the BigShots Facebook page for details.
Hours are 9 am-11 pm Sunday-Thursday and 9 am-midnight Friday and Saturday. Read about their COVID-19 health and safety protocols here.
According to the BigShots website, an avid golfer and tech-industry veteran named Jason Payne thought up and developed BigShots Golf in 2013. In 2018, BigShots entered a joint venture with Dallas-based ClubCorp, and franchise opportunities became available in 2019.
The Fort Worth location was developed by O'Reilly Hospitality Management based in Springfield, Missouri, which also runs the Champions Circle Marriott Hotel Complex. It is part of a once-sleepy far north Fort Worth/Alliance corridor near Texas Motor Speedway that also includes Buc-ees travel center, Tanger Outlet Mall, and more bustling retail and office development.
BigShots' second Texas location is expected to open in Bryan later this year.
