Guy Fieri-approved restaurant's pause tops hottest Fort Worth stories

1. Arlington restaurant featured on Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives to close. A restaurant in Arlington that got the Guy Fieri bump is closing for now: A Taste of Europe, the long-running, European-inspired restaurant in Arlington that was featured on an episode of Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives, had said it would close in August. Then after receiving an outpouring of support from local diners, co-owner and chef Daniel Tsalko said they will work to keep the restaurant alive. It will still close August 18 so repairs can be made to the building, and they'll reopen in November.
2. New chef at Fort Worth Tex-Mex restaurant Los Vaqueros has big plans. There's big chef news at a buzzy Fort Worth Tex-Mex: Los Vaqueros Restaurant has appointed Manuel Vasquez to serve as culinary director and executive chef at Los Vaqueros West in Willow Park.
3. Rodeo Cowboy sports bar brings bikinis and big-screen TVs to Grapevine. Grapevine has roped in a new sports bar in the vein of Twin Peaks, Hooters, et al: Called Rowdy Cowboy, it's a "breastaurant"-style spot with a Western twist newly opened at 1713 Crossroads Dr., along SH 121.
4. Find nachos and Chicago-style fare at Hurst restaurant Fry's Kitchen. There's a new eatery in Hurst serving a few hard-to-find Chicago-style classics. Called Fry's Kitchen, it's a mom-and-pop that opened softly in late July at 401 W. Bedford Euless Rd. in the former space of the similarly-themed E&B Chicago Eats.
5. Rock & Tacos in N. Richland Hills fuses 2 great things: tacos & music. A fun taqueria has opened in North Richland Hills serving tacos and live music. Called Rock & Tacos, it's at 5209 Rufe Snow Dr. in a former Dickey's that closed in 2023.
