Where to eat in Fort Worth right now: 6 new restaurants with buzz

Brunch at Duchess
The latest Where to eat in Fort Worth, our monthly roundup of dining hotspots, features an impressive array of places, from new concepts from high-profile chefs to fresh ethnic finds — underscoring the fact that Fort Worth's restaurant scene is pretty exciting right now.
Here's our June edition of where to eat in Fort Worth:
Duchess at the Nobleman
Buzzy new restaurant at the buzzy new Nobleman Hotel Fort Worth is now open, serving American and Texas inspired menu crafted by celebrity chef Casey Thompson, the Top Chef alum who became a familiar name in Fort Worth after having done similar menu duty for a now-closed restaurant called Brownstone. Duchess features some of her trademarks such as rainbow trout and roughly cut crudites with a dip. There are steaks, pastas, and a cool eggplant schnitzel with a Ritz cracker crust.
Karino's Piri Piri
South African restaurant inside the Funky Town Food Hall from self-taught chef Deon Stein specializes in peri peri chicken, the flavorful South African favorite. But Stein is doing way more than piri piri chicken. It's a little like a home cooking place, if you grew up in the Caribbean, with dishes such as curry goat, jerk chicken, chicken shawarma, and salads.
Paris Baguette
Popular South Korean bakery chain has opened its latest location in the hot-hot Alliance area in north Fort Worth, where it's serving French pastries, coffee, doughnuts, bread, cake, sandwiches, salads, and their take on pizza called pizzetta. Some of the items are Asian-inspired, such as the panko-crusted curry croquette or the pistachio frosted mochi doughnut.
Stewart’s Croquet & Cocktails
Sports and restaurant concept from celebrity chef Tim Love is now open along the Fort Worth Trinity Trails. As the name implies, the two focal points are its croquet courts and cocktails. However, there’s also Love's take on elevated bar food, with dishes like skirt steak & frites, fish & chips, a smash Wagyu burger, and a hot dog that can be made fancy with caviar on top.
Thai in Town Southlake
Innovative new Thai restaurant in Southlake is from veteran chef Mia Singthin, who previously founded two Asian fusion restaurants including well-liked chain Sakhuu Thai. Here, she is exploring four regions of Thailand with signature dishes from each region: from pad Thai to spicy Isan sausage with an occasional fun departure such as bao buns and a duck roti flatbread.
The Yard at Bowie House
Outdoor restaurant concept at Bowie House is one of the resort’s newest concepts and opened in April. No need to worry about reservations, because they have walk-in only dining after 3 pm. Their small menu has sharable plates like pita chips and dips, oysters, and whipped feta toast, or meals like the kebab burger and backyard bowls. They feature live music every Thursday with a different featured artist.
